Our outdoor battery enclosure designed to house and protect battery backup systems and associated power equipment in external environments. Including rain, dust, extreme temperature, UV exposure, and potential physical tampering.
With customized solutions in metal material/coating/cooling, this enclosure can adjusted based on demands and working enviroment. Including telecom base stations, solar energy storage systems, grid ancillary services, and commercial/industrial backup power installations.
Beyond simply containing batteries, a properly designed outdoor battery enclosure integrates thermal management systems, electrical safety components, cable management, and physical security features into a single, self-contained unit. The objective is to maintain batteries within their optimal operating temperature range while protecting them from environmental stress
We offer three primary thermal management approaches, each selected based on the deployment environment, heat load, and battery type.
Fan ventilation is suitable for moderate climates where ambient temperatures remain within acceptable ranges. Our fan-cooled models use filtered intake and exhaust fans to maintain positive airflow, combined with internal air baffling to ensure even temperature distribution across the battery compartment. More information can be checked in our Tech Column Axial fans and Centrifugal fans Selection for outdoor Telecom Enclosures
DC-powered air conditioning provides active cooling for warmer environments and is the preferred choice for telecom sites where DC power is readily available. We offer DC air conditioners in 1kW, 1.5kW, and 2kW cooling capacities, with intelligent temperature controllers that activate cooling only when needed — minimizing energy consumption. DC systems are particularly valued for their reliability and compatibility with standard telecom power architectures.
AC-powered air conditioning delivers the highest cooling capacity and is used in high-heat environments or for enclosures with significant heat-generating equipment. Our AC units are available with UL certification where required, and are commonly specified for industrial sites, solar storage installations, and deployments in regions with sustained high ambient temperatures.
Our outdoor battery enclosures are available in two primary material options, with protection ratings ranging from IP55 to IP65.
Galvanized steel is our standard material. It provides structural rigidity and corrosion resistance when finished with our multi-stage powder coating process. Galvanized steel enclosures represent balance betweeen durability and cost, and are suitable for the majority of outdoor telecom and energy storage deployments.
Aluminum offered less weight and good resistense. For coastal deployments where enhanced corrosion resistance is beneficial. Aluminum enclosures are naturally resistant to rust and require less surface treatment than steel, making a low-maintenance option for harsh environments.
In terms of ingress protection, our standard enclosures are rated IP55, providing complete dust protection and resistance to water jets from any direction — sufficient for most outdoor installations. For high-exposure sites, coastal areas, or deployments subject to heavy rainfall and flooding risk, we offer IP65 rated enclosures with enhanced sealing systems, including compressed silicone gaskets, sealed cable glands, and multi-point door locking mechanisms.
Our enclosures are designed to support the full range of battery chemistries and system configurations currently used in telecom and energy storage applications.
For VRLA (Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid) batteries : our enclosures accommodate standard 12V block batteries in rack-mounted or shelf-mounted configurations, with proper weight distribution and accessible terminal locations. We design battery compartments with sufficient clearance for cable routing and with venting provisions where required.
For lithium-ion and LiFePO₄ battery systems : our enclosures support rack-mounted battery modules in standard 19-inch form factors. Lithium systems support higher energy density with careful attention to thermal management, and our air-conditioned models are typically specified for these applications to maintain the narrow temperature bands that lithium batteries require for optimal performance and longevity.
We support Internal capacity ranges from 20U to 42U of usable rack space, with configurable compartment layouts that can segregate batteries from power equipment, inverters, or controllers. We can also integrate DC power distribution units, circuit breakers, surge protection devices, and monitoring systems within the same enclosure
Ningbo Spring combines in-house manufacturing capability with deep product engineering experience to deliver outdoor battery enclosures that meet the specific demands of each deployment.
Vertical manufacturing control
For most of manufacturing steps you need we takes place within our own facility, include sheet metal cutting, CNC bending through welding, powder coating, and final assembly. With direct quality control at every step and can implement custom modifications without relying on external suppliers.
Fully integrated solutions
We deliver enclosures that arrive on site fully assembled and tested, including thermal management systems, battery racks, power distribution components, and cable management hardware. This integrated approach eliminates the need for customers to coordinate multiple component suppliers and reduces field assembly time significantly.
